As Ireland accelerates its transition to a clean energy future, skills development remains a cornerstone of sustainable growth. As announced at Wind Energy Ireland’s Annual Conference, Pillar 4 of their Strategy 2026 – 2030 focuses on Making Industry Ready through training and upskilling, which Skillnet Offshore Wind Academy is proud to support.

The offshore wind sector has demonstrated that early skills adoption is not only advantageous, but essential. Offshore wind projects involve long lead times, complex supply chains and multidisciplinary teams. Identifying, training and upskilling workers early in project development not only reduces risk and delays but also enhances cost-efficiency and innovation.

In Ireland, where ambitious targets are driving our project pipeline, proactive skills development helps local employers compete for contracts, supports community benefits, and secure high-quality jobs for Irish workers. Developing core competencies early accelerates project deployment while building confidence among investors, policymakers and coastal communities..

Given this focus, Skillnet Offshore Wind Academy are highlighting their featured upcoming courses, designed to provide targeted learning that equips professionals with the knowledge and capabilities to succeed in Ireland’s growing offshore wind sector:
