Last week more than 480 people from across Ireland and Europe came together in Dublin for Offshore Wind 2026, all focused on one thing: how we keep moving Ireland’s offshore wind industry forward.
Over two days we heard from developers, policymakers, researchers, supply-chain companies, investors and energy users about the huge amount of work happening right across the sector to turn ambition into delivery.
And importantly, there are real signs of progress.
From continued momentum on the Phase One projects, to the successful Tonn Nua auction process, to ongoing work on future offshore wind sites through the National DMAP process, Ireland is moving closer to delivering the offshore energy system we need.
A sincere thank you to Minister Darragh O’Brien TD and Minister Timmy Dooley TD for joining us and sharing the Government’s perspective on the opportunities and challenges ahead. It was encouraging to hear such a strong focus on delivery, coordination and keeping momentum moving across planning, grid and infrastructure development.
One of the key moments of the conference was the launch of Wind Energy Ireland’s Offshore Wind Action Plan 2026.
The plan sets out 18 practical actions for Government, regulators, EirGrid and industry over the next 12 months to help de-risk investment, speed up planning and grid delivery, and make sure critical infrastructure like ports and grid connections are delivered on time.
The message throughout the conference was clear: Ireland’s energy transformation is happening now, but delivering it will require continued collaboration and urgency from everyone involved.
No single organisation can do this alone. It will take industry, Government, regulators, State agencies and communities all working together to deliver offshore wind at the scale and pace Ireland needs.
It was also fantastic to see such energy and engagement throughout the event. The quality of discussion across the sessions, exhibitions, networking events and even our first-ever live podcast recordings showed just how committed this industry is to making offshore wind a success for Ireland.
A huge thank you to all our sponsors, speakers, exhibitors and panelists for helping make Offshore Wind 2026 such a successful event, and especially to our event partners Deloitte, AWS, EirGrid and ESB for their support throughout. And of course, thanks to everyone who joined us at the Guinness Storehouse for a great evening and a chance to experience some Irish hospitality.
Finally, don’t forget to mark your calendar for the Renewable Energy Expo 2026 in the RDS this October. The Expo will bring together the companies, innovators and supply chain leaders driving Ireland’s renewable energy transformation and is a fantastic opportunity to attend, exhibit and make new connections across the sector.
