As Ireland expands its use of renewable energy, understanding its effects on electricity prices is increasingly important. Renewable sources, particularly wind energy, play a growing role in powering homes and businesses while supporting Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon future.

Dr Paul Deane, from University College Cork, spoke about the impact of renewables on electricity prices, highlighting how wind and other clean energy sources can influence costs for households and businesses. He was speaking on Renewable Kerry on Kerry Today on Radio Kerry.

Renewable Energy Ireland partnered with Radio Kerry to host a 12-week series exploring different aspects of renewable energy during the early winter of 2026.

Wind Energy Ireland was pleased to contribute to the series and support opportunities for Kerry listeners to hear from experts on key renewable energy topics, helping to explain how renewable technologies power our homes, communities, and economy.
